THE POSITION

Job Title: Quality Assurance Technician

Position Status: Full Time; One day shift and one night shift open

Department: Quality

Supervision Received: Quality Assurance Manager / Production Manager

Location: Mountain Iron, Minnesota

The Quality Assurance Technician works with the team to ensure the quality systems are understood and are in place. The duties of a Quality Assurance Technician include the daily collection and evaluation of quality data, assessment of and processing manufacturing inspection, development, and training to team members on measurement methods, ensuring equipment is calibrated, materials used are conforming and the processes are set up in accordance with approved manufacturing requirements and inspection of incoming materials.

  • KPI (including nonconformance) and conduct the appropriate analysis to allow for the appropriate continuous improvement strategic plans to be enacted
  • Assisting with projects to implement the corrective or preventive actions to ensure KPIs are met
  • Identify ways to improve existing processes and systems to improve quality and consistency
  • Understanding machine or material process limits
  • Monitoring production inspection results
  • Implementing and updating quality procedures
  • Inspect products at all stages of production
  • Perform manual and automated quality checks
  • Accomplishes quality assurance human resource objectives by supporting the training of the operations team on the appropriate process quality inspections
  • Prepares quality documentation (NC) and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends including non-conforming assemblies, processes issues, Supplier / Raw Material issues. Support root cause and corrective actions and validations
  • Responsible for maintaining or supporting calibration requirements
  • Performing review of incoming documents and completing dimensional inspections of incoming and in-process products using various variable and attribute gauging methods based on QCP and Product Engineer drawings and specifications
  • Supports internal and external audits
  • ISO internal company
  • Supporting external ISO and Certification audits
  • Supporting production surveillance audits
  • Supporting the investigating of customer complaints
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Leadership or delegate.
  • Enhances department and organization reputation by reducing process waste and improving organization and cleanliness
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED

  • Manufacturing or quality experience is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management
  • Understand Inspection Fundamentals
  • Ability to work as a team
  • Experience with data collection and analysis
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Must complete record check and drug screening prior to employment

Preference will be given to applicants who are legally qualified to work in either Canada or the US, including Canadian or American Citizens, Permanent residents, or those qualified to work in Canada or the US.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.50 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 48 per week
