Overview

Helio Health is seeking experienced Mental Health/SUD Therapists for our Intensive Crisis Stabilization Center (ICSC)in Syracuse, NY. The Licensed Counselor/Therapist will provide urgent response and/or treatment services to patients experiencing an acute mental health and/or substance use crisis. The schedule for this position is as follows: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 7:00am-3:30pm, and Wednesday, 3:00pm-11:30pm.

We are offering extremely competitive starting wages! Counselors are eligible to participate in Loan Forgiveness Programs and are eligible for Overtime & Shift Differential Pay! Additionally, all Full-Time Counselors are eligible for a Sign-On Incentive between $3,500 and $8,000 depending upon licensure!

Pay Rate: $30.44 - $33.82 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a case load of individuals seeking treatment with a variety of behavioral healthcare needs.
• Perform essential counseling/therapist responsibilities including screening, intake and assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, discharge planning, referrals, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation.
• Exhibit exemplary knowledge of the biopsychosocial process of substance use, addiction, behavioral health, self-help group processes, and principles of counseling.
• Provide evidenced-based counseling. 
• Be a change agent for the community by providing person-centered, strengths-based, harm reduction services.
• Maintain case records in accordance with state and federal regulations. 
• Assist with the training of staff and student interns as assigned.
• Relate effectively with individuals served, Helio staff and the community while upholding appropriate standards of confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid professional License (including but not limited to LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, RN, NP, etc.) or Credential (including but not limited to CASAC, CPP, CPS etc.)
  • Limited Permit (LP) Licenses are acceptable.
• One year experience working as a licensed mental health and/or substance use counselor.
• Two years’ experience in the Human Services field working with individuals with mental health, substance use or co-occurring disorders preferred.
• Master's degree preferred, Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid New York State Driver License, access to reliable transportation
• Proficiency with basic computer applications.
