Job Summary:

The HR Specialist will support the Corporate functions by being the administrator for several key HR programs. The Specialist will be involved in the administration and improvement of current programs and initiatives that contribute to ensuring best in class service is provided to Help at Home employees at the Field Support Center. The HR Specialist will run the daily functions of the HR department in accordance with company policies and practices, as well as, federal and state regulations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Leads onboarding initiatives for all Field Support Center new hires, including, but not limited to, initiating the welcome processes, conducting new hire orientation, collecting and submitting new hire paperwork to Payroll for data entry, and assisting hiring managers with various onboarding steps.
  • Retrieves and analyzes reports and data from various internal systems for internal review purposes.
  • Conducts employment reviews for employment change requests (i.e., termination reviews) and submits employment change requests for transfers, promotions, and demotions.
  • Compiles and maintains records of HR related activity, such as, performance management tracking, talent review and calibration ratings, and year-end ratings.
  • Administers the Help at Home Cares Fund application process to ensure all approved grant applications meet the charitable class requirements for grant awards.
  • Processes New Hire and Termination tickets on behalf of management.
  • Responds to day-to-day inquiries from Field Support Center employees on employment related matters.
  • Partners with leadership on job descriptions and pay reviews for all departments.
  • Administers recognition program events, including distribution of monthly anniversary/birthday reports, service award coordination and employee events for the Field Support Center teams.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proven foundation and knowledge of general HR policies and processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment with a high sense of urgency.
  • Ability to set high personal goals and work independently.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to make recommendations that effectively resolve problems or issues.
  • Proficiency in MS office suite, internet and database management or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management or equivalent field, preferred.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in HR administration or generalist work.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
