Grants and Contracts Manager

Job Type: Salaried, Full-Time with Benefits

Reports to: Executive Director

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in grants management, preferably with a focus on federal and state grants.
  • Proficient in using financial management software, with experience in Amplifund preferred.

Skills

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and practices.
  • Experience in nonprofit budget oversight and financial reporting for audits.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting requirements for government and foundation grants.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Grants Management

  • Oversee the entire life cycle of grants, from application to closeout.
  • Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and guidelines.
  • Collaborate with program managers to develop budgets for grant proposals.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulations and guidelines related to federal and state grants.
  • Ensure all documentation is organized and readily available for audits and reviews.
  • Implement and enforce internal controls to guarantee compliance with grant requirements.
  • Prepare and submit timely and accurate financial and programmatic reports for state, federal, and foundation grants.
  • Oversee nonprofit budget oversight, ensuring alignment with grant activities and organizational goals.
  • Provide detailed financial reporting for audits, maintaining meticulous records for compliance.

Organization and Collaboration

  • Foster strong relationships with program directors and external partners to facilitate effective communication regarding grant activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for reporting purposes.
  • Implement systems to monitor grant performance and evaluate the impact of funded programs.
  • Identify areas for improvement and work with relevant teams to address challenges.
