At Brighton Solutions, we are conducting a search for an HR Director of Store Operations. This will be working with a large retailer with store operations throughout the mid-west and southeast and growing rapidly. The work is based in a wonderful area of central Illinois but can be supported remotely from nearby areas such as St Louis and Indianapolis.

This organization prides itself on providing excellent service to customers and creating a positive work environment for employees. To help accommodate this growth, we are seeking an experienced HR professional to join our team as the HR Director of Store Operations.

Job Description:

As the HR Director of Store Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing all HR functions related to store operations and working with field HR personnel. You will provide leadership and guidance to a team of HR professionals and work closely with store managers and executive management to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Your primary focus will be on managing and implementing HR strategies to support the recruitment, development, and retention of our store employees. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures to support the store operations.
  • Lead and manage a team of HR professionals, providing guidance and support in all HR matters.
  • Partner with store managers to understand their HR needs and provide effective solutions.
  • Oversee recruitment efforts, including sourcing, interviewing, and selecting qualified candidates.
  • Develop and conduct training programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters and help resolve conflicts or issues.
  • Monitor and analyze HR metrics to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with other HR leaders to develop and implement company-wide HR initiatives.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to enhance HR strategies and processes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 10 years of experience in HR, with a focus on retail HR operations.
  • Previous experience as a Field HR Manager, preferably in a multi-store environment.
  • Strong knowledge of HR policies, practices, and employment laws.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

This position is based in central Illinois, approximately 1.5 hours from St. Louis and Indianapolis and can be performed largely remotely from those locations. If relocating, Central Illinois offers a beautiful and family-friendly environment with great lake communities, outstanding higher education facilities, great schools and an extremely low cost of living. Relocation assistance will be provided to the successful candidate.
