PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The HTI Team Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations for the facilities within their assigned zone. The individual in this position is responsible for ensuring all HTI employees are providing quality patient care in accordance with HTI policies, procedures and training.

This role is expected to support Hema-Tec, Inc.’s vision, values, mission and customer service philosophy. It is expected that the individual in this position will follow both Hema-Tec, Inc.’s and all contracted hospitals’ policies and procedures to provide the highest level of patient care and most superior customer service possible.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Responsible for displaying Hema-Tec, Inc.’s culture through values and customer service standards.
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with our contracted hospitals through accurate and timely communication.
  • Responsible for the compliance, support and execution of all relevant company and contracted hospital policies and procedures.
  • Acts as the direct report for all Hema-Tec RN and PCT staff within the assigned zone.
  • Works with HTI Administrative and Clinical Operationsteam to review and approve monthly schedule.
  • Responsible for the oversight of day-to-day activities on site and the resolution of all issues that may arise.
  • Takes initiative and action to resolve customer service issues with all customers in a timely manner.
  • Works in conjunction with the Multi-Site Clinical Ops Mgr., Clinical Director, and/or RN Nurse Educators to ensure efficient, successful clinical operations.
  • Oversees new hire orientation processes, obtains RN Educator approval with the completion of orientation.
  • Ensures that all staff understand and are properly educated on Hema-Tec policies & procedures.
  • Maintains knowledge and understanding of dialysis services as deemed necessary. This may include, but is not limited to HD, PD, and TPE.
  • Attends bimonthly supervisor meetings and reports bimonthly to quarterly metrics.

ADMINISTRATIVE:

  • Reviews treatment documentation for completeness, ensure nursing signatures are documented, and ensures omitted entries are completed or corrected where appropriate.
  • Performs annual performance evaluations & oversees the completion of annual clinical assessments for all assigned employees.
  • Daily review of team member assignments and execution of low census policy if required.
  • Primary point of contact for team member attendance reporting as well as review of time off requests.
  • Initiates, documents, and completes ongoing QA activities including monthly reports as directed.
  • Collaborates, as requested, with Quality Department and Clinical Director to review, investigate, and provide timely response to hospital complaints and incidents received.
  • Promotes efficiencies with clinical team in areas such as order entry, treatment setup and charge nursing to reduce delays in patient care.
  • Responsible for answering & distributing incoming pager calls for the assigned zone(s).

JOB REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION

  • Current appropriate state licensure, or national certification, with unblemished record.
  • Preferred: Actively pursuing Nursing degree at accredited school or graduate of an accredited School or Nursing.
  • Maintains acquired knowledge and remains current in advancements in nephrology.

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS

  • RN Requirement: Three (3) years of clinical dialysis experience for a supervisory position.
  • Certified Dialysis Technician Requirement: Five (5) years of clinical dialysis experience for a supervisory position.
  • Demonstrated strongskillsrelated to critically ill patients.
  • Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking skills independently.
  • BLS CPR recognition.
  • Demonstrates organizational and time management skills, and a competency toward completing continuing and ongoing renal/nephrology education.
  • Successful completion of all required competency testing and skills validation.
  • Familiarity with all emergency operational procedures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Described below are the physical demands and work environment characteristics that are representative of those an employee typically encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.   • Day to day work includes desk work, computer work and interaction with patients, facility/hospital staff and physicians.
  • Requires travel between assigned hospitals and various locations within the community.
  • The work environment is characteristic of a health care facility with air temperature control and moderate noise levels.
  • There is potential exposure to potentially infectious material and contagious diseases/material.
  • It requires prolonged periods of standing, the ability to bend (provisions to reduce bending, i.e. stool can be made available), to move machines and equipment > 200 lbs., and may lift chemical and water solutions of up to 30 lbs up as high as 5 feet. There is a two-person assist program and “material assist” devices for the heavier items.
