Hema-Tec, Inc. is Hiring a Dialysis Nurse Supervisor Near Saginaw, MI

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Acute Dialysis Supervisor is responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations for the facilities within their assigned zone. The individual in this position is responsible for ensuring all HTI employees are providing quality patient care in accordance with HTI policies, procedures and training.  

Our Acute Dialysis Supervisor is expected to support Hema-Tec, Inc.’s vision, values, mission and customer service philosophy.  It is expected that the individual in this position will follow both Hema-Tec, Inc.’s and all contracted hospitals’ policies and procedures to provide the highest level of patient care and most superior customer service possible.  

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Responsible for displaying Hema-Tec, Inc.’s culture through values and customer service standards. 
  • Reports to the HTI CEO, Clinical Nurse Director and Administrative Office. 
  • Develops and maintains effective relationships with our contracted hospitals through accurate and timely communication. 
  • Responsible for the compliance, support and execution of all relevant company and contracted hospital policies and procedures.  
  • Acts as the direct supervisor for all Hema-Tec RN and PCT staff within the assigned zone(s). 
  • Works with HTI Administrative team and Clinical Directors to review and approve monthly schedule. 
  • Responsible for the oversight of day-to-day activities on site and the resolution of all issues that may arise.  
  • Accountable for outstanding customer service to all hospital staff, patients, and affiliates.  

Patient Care:

  • Performs dialysis treatments to keep skills proficient and will take call as scheduled.  
  • Provides safe and effective patient care in compliance with company and contracted hospital standards, policies and procedures, as well as regulations set forth by the company, state, and federal agencies. 
  • Responsible for providing the appropriate treatment technique for assigned patients as prescribed in all modality procedures.  
  • Responsible for reporting all new or unusual incidents, information, complaints, or problems to the Clinical Director of the company.  
  • Assesses patients’ responses to treatment therapy making appropriate adjustments and modifications to the treatment plan as indicated by the appropriately credentialed physician. Communicates problems or concerns to appropriately credentialed physician, patient hospital primary nurse and others as necessary. 
  • Responsible for the implementation, administration, monitoring, and documentation of patient's response to prescribed intradialytic transfusions, including appropriate notification of adverse reactions to physician and appropriate blood supplier. 
  • Collaborates and communicates with physicians and other staff to interpret, adjust, and coordinate patient care plan to ensure continuity of care. 
  • Accurately records all physician orders and treatment information in the individual patient record.  
  • Initiates and coordinates communication of any significant patient information to the correct team member(s), including the physician, as needed.  
  • Appropriately and accurately completes any required documentation.  

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION

  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. 
  • Current appropriate state licensure, with unblemished record. 
  • Maintains acquired knowledge and remains current in advancements in nephrology. 
  • Must meet the practice requirements in the State of Michigan.  

EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Three (3) years of RN experience required for a supervisory position. 
  • One (1) year of dialysis experience. 
  • Demonstrated strong assessment skills related to the critically ill patient. 
  • Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking skills independently. 
  • Successful completion of a training course in the theory and practice of care of the ESRD patient. Basic Dialysis Education program 
  • BLS CPR recognition.
