POSITION:
Marketing Communications Director Intermediate Level / Full-time LOCATION: Portland, OR
Hemex Health is seeking an experienced marcom professional to manage the company’s social media, PR, website, tradeshow and other outbound communication needs. As Marketing Communications Director for Hemex, you will create and manage a variety of marcom projects to bring meaningful information about the Gazelle diagnostic platform to the global health community. You will take a lead role in defining the strategies for these activities both in the U.S. and the emerging markets we serve worldwide. You will engage with many areas of the company, including the executive, business development, and clinical research teams, our subsidiary in India, as well as work directly with distribution partners in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
JOB OBJECTIVES:
Expand Hemex Health’s brand presence among target audiences, including key opinion leaders, clinicians, investors, patient advocacy groups, and affected patient populations.
Lead the process in collaboration with key managers to more fully define Hemex’s brand voice and tone.
Work with marketing team on strategies to effectively position Gazelle in the remote testing market.
As a strategic partner of business development and distributors, develop and oversee outbound marketing campaigns to support company objectives for awareness and sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Social Media: Create campaigns and postings for company social media in the US and some overseas markets. Keep a social media calendar to plan postings for major health holidays and planned company launches/activity.
· Public Relations: Create and distribute press releases for company announcements, published studies, and product launches. Research editorial calendars of key publications, create a press kit, plan out stories on our timeline. Work with our PR consultant on story placement and seek out stories in country that demonstrate Gazelle usage and benefits -- line up interviews and convert articles to social content.
· Website: Oversee website strategy, development, SEO and maintenance with graphic designer.
· Product Launches: Work with Marketing Director and Product Development Teams on messaging and publicity for product launches.
· Tradeshows: Manage tradeshow logistics. Work with the graphic designer on booth/materials designs.
· Photoshoots: Team with designer to manage photoshoots.
· Investor Relations: Assist Company CEO with writing and sending out investor newsletters. Work with the CEO on investor relations. Maintain contact lists and databases.
· Marketing Collateral: Team with designer to create brochures, datasheets, and product videos.
REPORTING
· This position reports to the Director of Marketing
QUALIFICATIONS:
· 5 to 7 years previous marketing communications experience
· Able to develop and distribute press releases independently
· Experience running campaigns on social media platforms (LI, X, Instagram, FB)
· Experience placing stories in online or printed media
· Experience overseeing the creation of marketing materials
· A deep interest in global health issues.
· Ability to communicate persuasively and creatively with diverse audiences. You will develop materials for academic, medical, social impact, and patient groups
· Able to learn and communicate technical and scientific concepts
· Excellent collaboration skills – ability to gain alignment with cross-functional partners and to work with a variety of people from different backgrounds
· Strong planning, organizational, and project management skills.
· Some work from home, but also able to be in the office when needed
· Experience developing professional looking PowerPoint presentations
ADDITIONAL “PLUSES”
· Previous experience with healthcare or global health communications
· Understanding of FDA communications compliance
EDUCATION
· BA/BS required
· Emphasis on marketing, marketing communications, or journalism desirable
