Position SummaryThe Consulting Services Director serves our clients as a business partner/consultant and plays a crucial role in providing strategic consultancy services to our clients, fostering a collaborative relationship as a trusted business partner. Their expertise will contribute to the success of projects by aligning business objectives with technical solutions, ensuring the delivery of high-quality engineering and construction services. They collaborate closely with clients and/or internal staff to understand their unique challenges, goals and opportunities, offering tailored advice and solutions to enhance overall project success. The Consulting Services Director leads and oversees a group of experts, leveraging and coordinating their individual and collective expertise for the betterment of Henderson projects. This group’s primary objective is to utilize its expertise, storytelling, and analytical skills to support clients in making better informed decisions and mitigating risks.Essential Job Functions & AccountabilitiesOperations & QualityDevelops and fosters collaborative relationships with current and potential clients, offering advisory services that align business objectives with technical solutions.Provides strategic consulting services helping to prepare the master plan regarding building performance.Inform, illustrate, and educate internal and external clients on consulting services expertise.Communicates science-oriented solutions to clients based on business needs such as weaving decarbonization, resiliency and other specializations into building design.Oversees all operational areas of the consultancy group through direct supervision of staff and accountable for meeting company quality standards across their individual purview. Develops the consultancy group’s annual budget, monitoring for adherence throughout the year. ProfitabilityEnsures appropriate actions are taken to maximize the financial performance of the group.Establishes and monitors revenue and profitability goals for the team, fostering collaboration and providing regular updates to the executive committee.Conducts thorough risk assessments to proactively identify and mitigate potential threats to the business line’s success.Drives new business growth through identifying consulting opportunities with current Henderson clients as well as actively seeking out new client relationships for Henderson. Empowers others to contribute imaginative solutions and challenge the status quo, rewarding the spirit of innovation, especially when change is necessary.Required Education, Experience, Licenses & Technical CompetenciesBachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, science, technology, architecture or business preferred.Minimum 15 years of relevant experience required, including in a similar leadership role.Strong history of developing business that is profitable and strategic for continued growth.Demonstrated history of identifying and closing new business using a consultative, multi-discipline team approach.Professional Engineer license preferred.Knowledge of LEED and WELL rating systems preferred.Proven ability to leverage relationships with key stakeholders and trade partners to drive desired project outcomes.Must demonstrate proficiency in all core competencies as described and characterized in this job description.Physical & Other RequirementsOther duties as assigned. Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.Travel required up to 15% annually.Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
