Over the past 15 years, HHTax has successfully leveraged our vast network of tax professionals and our targeted industry knowledge to successfully advise careers and place professionals at every level from Tax Associates to Chief Tax Officers, and Tax Partners, in both private industry and public accounting. We service our clients primarily in the NYC area as well nationally through our AAFA network (45 financial staffing affiliates throughout the U.S. and Canada).

Our client, an international finance giant serving the entertainment industry, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Tax Accountant to join their NYC team. The ideal candidate will be a CPA (or CPA in progress), have a strong understanding of tax laws and regulations, and proficiency in tax research techniques. This role will involve preparing and reviewing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws, and providing strategic tax planning and advisory services.

Compensation: $120,000

Workplace Policy: Hybrid, NYC location

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and participate in review of complex federal, state, and local tax returns, including 1040s, 1120, 1120s, 1065, 1041 and 709
• Provide proactive tax planning and consulting services to minimize tax liabilities and optimize tax positions
• Tax research using CCH, BNA, and RIA to address complex tax issues
• Interpret and apply Internal Revenue Code (IRC) regulations to ensure compliance
• Mentor and train junior tax accountants, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development
• Work independently and collaboratively with partners and other departments

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or CPA in progress preferred
• 5 years of experience in tax accounting
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Quickbooks, and tax research tools (i.e. CCH, BNA, and RIA)
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax issues and provide clear recommendations
