YOUR ROLE

• This position will sit in either Stamford, CT OR Culver City, CA
• Support R&D initiatives as an integral member of a multifunctional team to ensure product safety is considered early in the product development process
• Conduct toxicological evaluations and write the associated safety assessments for finished products, including conducting Proposition 65 assessments
• Manage in-market safety questions and surveillance of products in the market by investigating and addressing consumer exposures; update safety assessments as needed.
• Conducting causality assessments per EU Cosmetovigilance and requires collaboration with functions within and outside of product safety, (i.e. QA, Legal and R&D partners)
• Understand the current state of the science when it comes to various safety related topics such as, but not limited to: Alternative to animal testing methodologies, Skin sensitization, Product safety testing strategies, where necessary, Updating exposure models, California Proposition 65 and Safe Harbor Limits, Deriving safe harbor thresholds for substances that do not have published values
• Versed on hazard communication and Global Harmonization Standards (GHS) and can provide support to create, audit and update of safety data sheets (SDS) for finished products; experience of dangerous goods classification preferred
