Job Requirements/Skills/Physical Demands:

• Compassion for animals
• Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds and maintain control of large breed dogs, horses, sheep and goats when needed
• Demonstration of excellent critical thinking, problem solving, time management and decision-making skills
• Effective communication skills and ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment both within a team and independently

Job Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with veterinarians and other team members to help maintain hospital flow
• Professional, courteous, and effective communication with clients and staff
• Assist veterinarians during exams, providing restraint as needed to work safely and effectively
• Accurate preparation and administration of medications and treatments to patients under the direction of a veterinarian
• Safely and accurately assist in obtaining radiographic images, preparing samples for laboratory testing, and filling prescriptions
• Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment
• Perform other duties as assigned
