The Organization:

Henry Mayo is a 357-bed, stand-alone, not-for-profit community hospital and trauma center serving the Santa Clarita Valley in Southern California. Henry Mayo is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and has approximately 1,800 employees, 600 medical staff representing 71 specialties and subspecialties. The 24/7 Emergency Department saw nearly 60,000 visits in 2020 and nearly 1,400 babies were delivered in their highly regarded maternity department. In addition, Henry Mayo is an advanced primary stroke center, level II trauma center, and STEMI heart attack receiving center.

The Position:

Reporting directly to the VP/Chief Human Resources Officer, The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department, including recruitment, retention, benefits and compensation administration, employment and labor relations, employee health and safety, and HRIS. This position will interpret hospital policies and procedures to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, competitive practice, collective bargaining agreements and operational objectives. The Director supervises the Human Resources staff of approximately 14 employees.

Experience/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or related field required with Master’s degree preferred
• 5 years of progressive experience and in Human Resources required with hospital or healthcare experience preferred
• 3 years of management/leadership experience preferred
• PHR or SHRM-CP Certification preferred

Compensation:

For the selected candidate, a complete and competitive compensation package will be offered which includes salary (target $200k), incentive bonus (up to 15%), major insurances, PTO, retirement, and relocation reimbursement.
