Henry Street Settlement is Hiring a Case Manager Supervisor - Urban Family Center Near New York, NY

Job Overview:

  • Division: Transitional Supportive Housing/Urban Family Center
  • Work Schedule: 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday 9:00am-5:00pm with flexibility
  • Pay: $65,000

Job Summary: 

The case manager supervisor reports directly to the assistant program director. As part of a multidisciplinary team, the case manager supervisor will supervise the social service staff and other personnel to ensure that Urban Family Center meets the highest possible standards of health and safety and provides all needed quality services to residents to meet contractual and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) required; LMSW/LCSW preferred
  • At least 4-5 years working in the shelter setting; 2-3 years of management experience
  • Excellent problem solving ability with strong crisis intervention, communication, interpersonal and team building skills
  • Experience serving vulnerable populations (Homeless, Mental Health, Domestic Violence, etc.)
  • Bilingual/bicultural (Spanish) preferred
  • Proficient computer skills is required
  • Must have excellent organizational, decision making and writing skills
  • Experience with DHS CARES client information system a plus

Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct supervision for social service staff including but not limited; to case managers, housing specialist, and client care coordinator, assists in staff recruiting, assist with the completion of annual performance evaluations, assists and facilitates individualized trauma informed care to Residents of the shelter
  • Ensures staff compliance with regulatory and funding agencies, clinical documentation standards and requirements through DHS CARES database
  • Assists with program planning, development, implementation, training and evaluation
  • Leads on site trainings on new DHS procedures and protocols
  • Provides administrative backup to Program Director and overall program
  • Serves as liaison with other HSS programs
  • May carry a caseload when necessary
  • Participates in the program’s interview process for New Hires
  • Develops continuous strategies for best practices and program compliance
  • Supervises Master of Social Work interns/students
  • Attends and conducts interdisciplinary team meetings
  • Maintains, monitors and audit confidential client records and electronic files to ensure that they are up to date and meet regulatory requirements 
  • Works closely with Program Director on time sensitive reports and other funder requirements
  • Fosters collaboration with other program administrators in order to develop problem-solving methods 
  • Other related duties as assigned by Director and Senior Management 

Essential Physical Job Functions:

  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19
  • Ability to work onsite in the Lower East Side
  • Ability to walk 6 flights of stairs
