Join our client's team as an M&V Specialist and support commercial and industrial energy efficiency and demand management programs across New York and New Jersey.

Responsibilities include developing M&V plans, deploying metering equipment, conducting energy analysis, managing projects, and collaborating with clients and our Advanced Energy team to implement transformative energy efficiency initiatives.

Ideal candidates have strong technical skills in building systems, energy efficiency, and project management, with excellent communication and client-focused capabilities.

  • Coordinating and managing energy efficiency and demand management projects.
  • Performing energy savings calculations and developing strategies for various projects.
  • Conducting preliminary desk reviews and analyses.
  • Creating project-specific M&V plans, including sampling approaches and safety protocols.
  • Reviewing M&V plans to validate costs, methods, and projected savings.
  • Conducting pre-installation inspections, data collection, and functional testing.
  • Installing and removing meters and data collection equipment as needed.
  • Analyzing data from building automation systems to evaluate energy usage.
  • Interpreting M&V data to identify trends, validate savings projections, and establish baseline conditions.
  • Generating technical reports summarizing project scope, methodologies, M&V activities, results, assumptions, and recommendations.
  • Keeping managers informed of project schedules, progress, and budget updates.
  • Providing technical mentorship to junior engineers and ensuring quality control of calculations.
  • Staying updated on energy issues and industry trends through ongoing technical reading and participation in professional organizations.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of technical protocols and quality assurance procedures for energy efficiency programs.
  • Collaborating with contractors and program administrators to meet program requirements.

Basic Qualifications :

  • Strong knowledge of measurement and verification techniques, particularly in applying IPMVP based on project scope and objectives.
  • Familiarity with safety practices essential for on-site M&V activities.
  • Understanding of building systems commissioning, HVAC design, energy efficiency technologies, green building, and high-performance design.
  • Experience in the energy field, including energy efficiency, distributed energy generation, project economics, renewable energy, HVAC, and central heating / cooling systems.
  • Must have reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record. Responsible for vehicle maintenance and related expenses.

Desired Skills :

  • Preference for candidates with experience in M&V methods, equipment deployment, and data analysis to validate savings projections and establish baseline conditions.
  • CMVP (Certified Measurement and Verification Professional) or equivalent accreditation preferred.
  • PE (Professional Engineer) accreditation is a plus.

Experience Minimum : 3-10 years of experience in green building, energy efficiency, building science, or related fields preferred.
