Herbein + Company, Inc. is Hiring a Finance - Senior Accountant Near Reading, PA
The Finance Senior Accountant role is primarily focused on and an expert in full cycle accounting processes to ensure accurate financial reporting. This role will play a key role in supporting the financial operations of our firm and excels in general ledger reconciliation and month-end close procedures.
The finance department is based in our corporate office in Reading, PA. Our firm offers hybrid and remote work job arrangements, after an initial training period for the right candidates. The ideal candidate will reside within a commutable distance from one of our offices.
- Perform daily accounting tasks such as journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare and maintain financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement.
- Maintain fixed asset records and perform periodic reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Assist with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and information.
- Participate in the preparation of tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirements.
- Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4-8 years of proven work experience managing the full cycle accounting processes of a business.
- Proficiency in month-end close reconciliation of the general ledger.
- Excellent proficiency in MS Excel.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools; experience with Sage 100 (previously MAS 90) is a plus.
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to providing exceptional client service with a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
