Short Description
This role will lead a group of engineers that will set the standards for network-wide architecture and security. It will require a strong technical understanding of enterprise data and voice design utilizing Cisco System hardware, collaboration tools, and industry best practices. Responsibility will include leading the design, implementation, and operational aspect of the Global Herc network and voice Infrastructure. Coordinates and leads the technical activities of the team. Provides strong leadership to assist with coaching, escalation and delegation of tasks and activities.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership and mentoring to team members to achieve organizational goals and coordinate with teams to ensure business needs are properly implemented and satisfy the business processes defined for the project/initiative
- Collaborate closely with other teams (e.g. Desktop Engineering, Cloud Services and Applications) to provide consultation and technical administration for projects, initiatives, and general operations to ensure performance, availability, and security across platforms
- Document process design, process workflow, process instructions, architectural documentation, etc.
- Work with customers, vendors, and technical teams to prospect and develop network design, installation, and support opportunities.
- Serve as the Operational Lead for Herc Rentals network/voice managed services to assure incident and service requests are met within the agreed upon Service Level Agreements
- Understands departmental billing mechanism, code. and track invoices. Prepare and track capital and expense within the department budget
- Monitor and report on network and voice system performance and providing status to management
- Serve as the primary escalation point for operational issues to ensure incident and problem resolution
- Drives problem investigations and resolution as required
- Completes reports and summaries for management including project status, problem reports and progress summaries.
- Coordinates network and voice vendor support and vendor performance reviews
- Coordinates and manages complex issues, coordinating appropriate technical personnel, workplan, deadlines and driving customer communications until issue resolution
- Lead new technology adoption to enhance services offered
Professional Experience
• ITIL certification preferred
• 8-10 years of relevant work experience within an Enterprise environment
• 8-10 years of technical experience in network, VoIP, data center, and wireless with Cisco architecture
• Experience working with, designing, and supporting IP Telephony, Linux, Microsoft Server, VMware virtual environments, specifically datacenter networking
• Experience with Cloud Services including AWS, OCI and Azure
• Experience leading projects, developing and/or deploying network infrastructure
• Experience managing telecom, hardware, and service vendors to meet business objectives and SLAs
• Experience with provisioning network services around MPLS, broadband, DIA, and cellular LTE
• Experience with infrastructure cabling standards, troubleshooting and new installation of Ethernet and Fiber optics
• Excellent documentation skills
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Self-starters with a good work ethic, the ability to work independently or as a team
• Great customer service skills
• Excellent troubleshooting skills & problem resolution
Educational Background
Bachelor’s Degree Required in Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, other related field or equivalent work experience.; advanced degree preferred.

Pay Range: $69,512.00 - $106,934.00
