As a Full Time Lead Teller with Heritage Financial, your main focus will be to provide outstanding service to our membership base. This includes assisting members with deposits, withdrawals, loan payments and more. You would act as a relationship manager to our members to help discover and identify their financial needs and refer products and services that can help them reach their goals. You take pride in your branch, making sure that your work station is clean, stocked and ready for any member interaction. This position requires rotating Saturday coverage.
Position Title: Lead Teller

Salary Range: $17.81 - $22.26 per hour depending on experience, plus unlimited monthly incentives.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPSPosition Reports To: Branch Manager
Positions Supervised: None
Essential Functions And Basic Duties
  • Provide outstanding member service by accurately processing member transactions and actively promoting products and services. Transactions include deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, check cashing, money orders, placing check holds, assuring proper identification & endorsements, balance and maintain cash drawer, etc. Process mail and night depository transactions. Ensure that teller station is properly stocked with forms, supplies etc.
  • Assist Branch Supervisor/Branch Manager as necessary in balancing and maintaining ATMs and vault, training new employees, opening/closing procedures, etc.
  • If the Branch Supervisor is unavailable or absent, supervise the branch, being responsible for opening/closing procedures, the smooth operation of the branch and the branch staff.
  • Cross-sells Credit Union products and services. Mentor and coach, the teller staff, stressing the importance of cross-sell opportunities.
  • Prepare the monthly audit package for the Branch Manager to review.
  • Perform responsibilities of position in accordance with federal and state regulations, credit union policies and procedures
  • Recommend changes, workflow, efficiencies and quality.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTSPerformance is measured against the core competencies as outlined by the position and against goals established by the supervisor. Provide friendly, professional, personal service to all customers and associates. Balance your drawer daily. Process an average number of transactions per hour and accurately post transactions. Troubleshoot and resolve customer and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner. Proactively seek opportunities to identify appropriate products and services for the betterment of the customer. Maintain a professional work environment and businesslike appearance.
RequirementsEDUCATION/CERTIFICATION: High School Diploma or GED plus two years customer service and cashier experience; or a comparable combination of education and experience. Notary designation or ability to attain within 6 months.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: This position requires that the employee gain a working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements and how they will affect their work. The employee will comply with all requirements of the BSA and cooperate with the designated BSA Officer in assuring compliance.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Experience using P.C. based software including Microsoft Office.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Ability to project a professional appearance and positive attitude at all times. Excellent customer service and communication skills. Bilingual a plus.
