Job SummaryThe vet tech will assist with preparing vaccines and serums for prevention of diseases, submit samples and proper documentation to the labs, create labels for scripted products, write VFDs (Veterinary Feed Directive) and CVI (Certified Veterinary Inspection) and clean and sterilize instruments and materials and maintain equipment and machines.

Job SummaryThe vet tech will assist with preparing vaccines and serums for prevention of diseases, submit samples and proper documentation to the labs, create labels for scripted products, write VFDs (Veterinary Feed Directive) and CVI (Certified Veterinary Inspection) and clean and sterilize instruments and materials and maintain equipment and machines.
Responsibilities
- Maintains controlled drug inventory and related logbooks.
- Prepare samples along with the proper documentation to send to the Laboratory. Prepares, vaccines, serums, and treatments as prescribed by veterinarians.
- Fills prescriptions, measuring medications and labeling containers.
- Provides veterinarians with the correct equipment and instruments. Cleans and sterilizes instruments, equipment, and materials.
- Performs office, clerical, and accounting duties such as reception, billing, bookkeeping, and selling products.
- Keeping VCPRs (Veterinary Client Patient Relationship) up to date and updating scripts as directed by a veterinarian.
- General understanding of animal physiology and veterinary terminology.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Appropriate state certification and licensing
- At least two years of relevant experience
- Prolonged periods of standing, reaching, bending, and lifting.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
