Job Title: Paralegal
Job Overview:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Paralegal to join our legal team. The Paralegal will play a crucial role in supporting attorneys with legal research, document preparation, and case management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal administrative tasks and possess knowledge in areas such as Probates, Guardianships, Conservatorships, Estate Planning, Medicaid Planning and Trusts.
Skills/Experience needed to work in this position include:
- Organize and maintain legal files and documents
- Review and proofread legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Assist in drafting correspondence and client communications
- Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government agencies
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records
- Ability to file, scan, copy, fax and organize legal documents
- Schedule and calendar hearings, and reminders
- Ability to file documents with the court ahead of deadlines
- Typing speed of at least 50 WPM
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
- Ability to effectively prioritize assignments and meet deadlines
- Familiarity with conducting legal research using online databases and resources
- Proficient in data entry and document management systems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Courteous and professional demeanor
- Ability to work independently and as a team with all attorneys and staff
- Strong sense of discretion
3 years’ workplace experience or certificate from an ABA approved paralegal program
Notary public preferred
Salary: $22.00 - $25.00 DOE
Benefits: Vacation; Sick Time; Paid Holidays, Quarterly Bonus program
Note: This is a part-time position with competitive compensation and benefits package.
