Your OpportunityAre you interested in applying your engineering skills to design stormwater infrastructure to improve water quality and support communities? Do you like working as part of integrated design teams with ecologists, landscape architects, and scientists to design high-performance projects in sensitive ecological settings? Are you looking for an opportunity to grow your design experience on complex and large-scale design projects? Then this role is for you! As a Civil Stormwater Design Engineer, you will join a team of experienced, creative, and mission driven engineers, scientists, landscape architects, planners, biologists, and other experts working on a variety of environmental projects from the urban realm to the upper watershed. In this role we will count on you to:
Assist with the planning and design of small- and large-scale stormwater facilities and stormwater infrastructure retrofits
Assist with planning and design of green infrastructure and community amenities
Assist with civil site development engineering design for industrial facilities, parks, trails, and open spaces
Assist with production of plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports for stormwater infrastructure projects
Perform hydrologic and hydraulic stormwater model simulations to design flow control, water quality, and conveyance infrastructure
Prepare stormwater management reports and technical memoranda
Bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certificate, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Experience with and/or interest in planning and design of stormwater infrastructure
Experience with and/or interest in preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimate packages along with related technical reports for public and/or private stormwater management facilities and/or site development civil engineering projects
Experience with and/or interest in hydraulic and hydrologic stormwater modeling
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Strong team collaboration, clear written and verbal communication abilities, and excellent organizational and task management skills
A passion for developing sustainable solutions to complex stormwater problems for public and private clients
Ability to interact with multidisciplinary teams and juggle multiple tasks
Preferred Qualifications
Construction observation or inspection experience on civil projects
Experience designing green stormwater infrastructure (GSI)Experience designing green stormwater infrastructure (GSI)
Experience developing plans for construction
Experience working with multidisciplinary teams
Experience with stormwater modeling software (WWHM, MGSFlood, SWMM)
Experience with AutoCAD/Civil3D drafting software
Experience with Bluebeam PDF editing software

This position is salaried and exempt from overtime; the annual salary range is $69,800 – $90,500
Salary is determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to years of experience, type/relevance of experience, skillset, and fit for the role
