A vibrant synagogue on the shores of Mercer Island, Washington seeks self-directed, creative individual who will create, manage and implement opportunities for engagement for the congregation and greater community. This will include planning programs from conception to completion and working as part of a caring team of professionals and volunteers. Such efforts will foster lifelong connections, education, and volunteerism.
A successful candidate will enjoy interacting with multiple demographics and interest groups, including them in the process of developing opportunities for multi-level involvement in the community which include social action, communal caring, and membership stewardship.
Candidate must be detail-oriented, outgoing, adaptable, energetic, and comfortable with a schedule that involves participation in synagogue life which can include Shabbat, holidays, and occasional evenings.
Candidate will possess the following:
· Experience in program/event management
· Excellent communication skills in marketing (newsletters, website, internal and external)
· Budget management experience
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and social media use in organizational culture
· Comfort and confidence in their ability to quickly learn new software
· Knowledge of Jewish traditions is a plus
· Related nonprofit experience is a plus
· Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience
