Overview

Logistics and Material Handling AssociateAs a valued member of our Operations Department, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the efficient receipt, storage, and shipping of materials, all while contributing to the maintenance of a well-organized inventory system. The Location: Hexagon is a global company with locations around the world. This position is based in Morton, IL.

Responsibilities

As Logistics and Material Handling Associate, you will be responsible for:

    Picking, Packing, and Shipping: Ensure the smooth execution of picking, packing, and shipping processes, adhering to established guidelines for accurate and timely order fulfillment
  • Material Receiving, Setup, and Storage: Ensure the accurate receipt, setup, and storage of incoming materials
  • Material Requests and Returns: Efficiently manage material requests and returns
  • Material Transfers and Issuance: Facilitate seamless material transfers and ensure timely handling of material issuance
  • Material Availability: Proactively monitor, track, and communicate accurate material availability
  • Material Restock: Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking efforts
  • Material Disposal and Recycling: Ensure proper disposal and recycling initiatives
  • Inventory Auditing and Cycle Counting: Conduct regular inventory audits and cycle counting to maintain accurate records
Qualifications

Must-Have:

  • Educational Requirements: A high school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications or relevant training are advantageous
  • Prior Experience: Candidates with logistics, warehousing, or materials management will be considered favorably
  • Order Fulfillment Understanding: Knowledge of order fulfillment processes, including picking, packing, and shipping
  • Shipping Software Proficiency: Ability to work with shipping software for generating shipping labels, tracking shipments, and coordinating deliveries
  • Inventory Principles: Familiarity with inventory management principles, including cycle counting, restocking, and accurate tracking
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in inventory management software, email, and basic MS Office applications for documentation and communication
  • Accurate Data Entry: Proficiency in precise data entry and updates related to materials, shipments, and inventory
  • Lifting and Material Handling: This role requires the ability of safely lifting, moving, and handling materials of varying sizes and weights, adhering to proper ergonomic practices

  • Communication: Clearly convey information, actively listen to others, and facilitate open and respectful communication with team members.

Nice-to-Have:

  • ERP Software Expertise: Proficiency in utilizing inventory management software systems, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) for streamlined tracking, order management, and warehouse optimization. Strong aptitude for accurate data entry, updates, and retrieval within these software platforms.
  • Quality Control: Familiarity with tools and methods to inspect and verify the quality of materials during receiving, storage, and shipping.
  • Packaging Techniques: Knowledge of effective packaging methods to protect materials during transportation and prevent damage.
