Equipment UtilizedEpic is the EMR used at our facility. Omnicell is used to dispense medication if not available in the OR pharmacy. We utilize Storz OR1 video equipment and primarily Smith and Nephew for arthroscopies.
Required Skills And Minimum Years ExperienceMust be able to circulate all types of procedures performed at the location. Must be able to handle a fast-paced environment and easily adjust to changes in schedule and room assignments.
Minimum of two years in the OR as a circulating nurse is required.
Specific License RequiredBLS (AHA)
Shift Or Schedule RequirementsHours will vary depending on facility. All shifts will be 8 hrs, with no call required. No weekends are required and no overtime is available.
Floating RequirementsThis position requires floating between Fritch Surgery Center and the Village Pointe outpatient and aesthetic surgery centers as needed.
Bed SizeFritch: 6 ORs, Village Pointe: 4 ORs between outpatient and aesthetic surgery centers.
Nurse To Patient Ratio1:1 although some procedures require a second circulator or a nurse to do local monitoring.
Dress CodeSurgical Scrubs are provided at each location for Daily use
Tell Us About The UnitOrientation will be coordinated with our Professional Development Specialist (educator), the manager and the Lead RN/Supervisor at each location. One week of orientation will be offered, but the candidate may choose to come off orientation earlier if they are comfortable.
