- Provide direct patient care, evaluate outcomes and adjust the nursing care process as indicated to ensure optimal patient care.
- Able to perform a focused assessment and reassessment. This includes pediatric, adolescent, geriatric and the general patient population.
- Exhibit cooperation and positive attitude toward other hospital departments.
- Serves as a professional member of the Surgical Services team.
- Communicate questions about appropriateness of medical or nursing care through chain of command as needed.
- Perform treatments and procedures as directed, which are within the individual's training and capabilities with diagnostic exam and procedures including cardiac monitoring and nursing care of patient receiving procedural sedation.
- Preparation of the surgical suite for the procedures which are to be performed. To include all functions according to AORN Standards and hospital policy.
- Safe care of all patients during their stay in the OR according to AORN standards and hospital policy.
- Knowledge of all equipment used in the surgical services department.
- Documents medications and nursing care in a timely and accurate manner in the E.H.R.
