JOB SUMMARY

HexArmor will launch a new PPE safety category in footwear. To this end, we seek a highly energetic, experienced, well-organized professional to lead product management activities for the footwear category. As a Footwear Product Manager, you will work with the VP of Business Development to onboard the footwear category and subsequently manage the product line forward.

HexArmor expects the individual in this role to have a passion for detail and organization. As a product management professional, it will be your responsibility to fully document, organize, manage, and track the products associated with the footwear category. Additionally, this role will work with all departments throughout the organization to execute the defined objectives.

LOCATION

Onsite at HexArmor Headquarters in Grand Rapids, MI

• Travel to UVEX HQ/factory locations (Germany, Italy, and Vietnam

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Full understanding of footwear product line features and benefits (subject matter expert).
• Full understanding of product standards and certification requirements.
• Manages relationship with supplier partner (uvex footwear PM).
• Owns product specifications and manages revisions.
• Responsible for managing, communicating, and recording quality issues alongside QA team(s).
• Manages product costs and pricing.
• Creates, owns, and continuously manages competitive landscape.
• Conducts market research in product category and regularly updates category management.
• Lead the end-to-end product development process, from concept ideation and design to manufacturing and commercialization. Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure that safety footwear products meet or exceed industry standards for safety, durability, and comfort.
• Responsible for New Product Creation (NPC) and communication across organization.
• Stay informed about relevant safety regulations, standards, and certifications applicable to safety footwear in various industries (e.g., OSHA, ASTM, ANSI). Ensure that product designs and materials comply with regulatory requirements and undergo necessary testing and certification processes.
• Assists marketing with technical product details for collateral development and regularly reviews existing collateral for accuracy.
• Provide product category support to the sales team via onboarding training, new product training, refresher training, day-to-day product support, and travel as needed.
• Responsible for product lifecycle management.
• Conduct product line reviews annually.
• Responsible for driving timelines and reporting on the status/progress of product development projects (PDP).
• Works alongside footwear category manager to support product category growth goals.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree: degree in Business, Engineering, Science, or Design preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 3-7 years of relevant work experience
• 5-10% travel to domestic customers and international partner facilities
• Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Efficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications
• Knowledge and experience in Adobe Creative Suite are a plus
