Lincoln Medical Center is looking for an experienced Medical Tech (MT) or Medical Laboratory Tech (MLT) to join our Laboratory in a full-time position.

The basic purpose of this position is to be responsible for the analysis of laboratory specimens and subsequent result reporting according to laboratory protocol and procedures.

Essential Functions:

• Performs accurate and appropriate testing of specimens received in the laboratory, according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.
• Reports test results in a timely manner and according to established laboratory protocol and procedures.
• Follows established procedures for laboratory quality control and reports discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor.
• Performs daily, weekly, monthly or as needed, maintenance on instruments and equipment as appropriate. Performs calibration of equipment as required.
• Performs phlebotomy (venipunctures, finger sticks, heel sticks, bleeding times) as appropriate for the patient (from age 0 to greater than 100 years) requiring this procedure.
• Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.

Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) Qualifications and Skills:

• State of Tennessee license (or eligible) as an MT or MLT
• 1 year of micro experience preferred
