Executes appropriate patient care by assisting the physicians with diagnostic and interventional procedures. Supports team members before, during, and following procedures to assure optimal patient care. ## Registry may define responsibilities that are specific to each registry but does not limit activities under direct physician supervision.
Education: High School diploma/GED. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing required.
License, certification and/or registration: Current Alabama or Multistate Nursing license
Experience: Cardiac catheterization for diagnostic and interventional procedures, cardiovascular patient care, radiographic special procedures and/or hemodynamic monitoring experience accepted
Additional Skills/Abilities: Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment related to changing daily work schedules, emergency and on-call procedures; working with patients with acute, chronic, and complex cardiac disease; and maintain absolute integrity in the accurate performance and reporting of diagnostic procedures. Ability to learn techniques quickly and accurately. BCLS certification required within 90 days of employment. ACLS certification is required within 12 months of employment. EKG Competency Testing is required within the first 90 days of employment and annually: (Part 1) Visual identification of 6 Lethal Cardiac Rhythms, passing with a score of 100%; (Part 2) Basic EKG Rhythms written examination, passing with a score of 85% or higher.
