Duties
- Serves as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) appropriations authority on all budget development and evaluation activities and issues including those impacting medical products, foods, and cosmetics.
- Demonstrates and exercises senior leadership/advisory roles in determining direction, creation, and implementation of FDA's efforts regarding appropriations issues of significant interest to the House and Senate Appropriations Committees.
- Leads appropriations-related briefings, hearings, and other activities consisting of members of Congress, congressional staff, and the House and Senate Appropriations Committees.
- Provides for greater coordination, integration, and administration of information, programs, and activities within FDA and externally with Health and Human Services, Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Congress, and other Federal Agencies.
- Establishes goals and objectives, plans work to be accomplished, and assigns work considering difficulty of assignments and capabilities of subordinate organizations.
- Utilizes subordinate supervisors and team leaders to direct, coordinate, and oversee work; make decisions on work problems presented by office's staff and stakeholders.
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.
- The candidate selected for this position will serve under a career or career-conditional appointment within the competitive service.

- providing advice and consultation to senior-level government officials, or non-governmental officials and staff on all appropriations and other related issues, including congressional activities, hearings, and strategy, involving public health policy, budget, or funding matters;
- serving as a key liaison among congressional staff and various levels of government; and
- managing work of subordinates or junior level staff.
- At least Under-graduate Level Degree.The degree must be from an accredited program or institution.
- Experience with the Congressional House and Senate Appropriations Subcommittees and their staffs.
- Working knowledge of appropriations-related legislative issues related to regulated products.
