Description
Job Summary: Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Behavior Specialist/Analyst will provide behavior support to individuals within the agency. This will include planning, developing, and monitoring individual-specific positive behavior support programs. The Behavior Specialist/Analyst will consult and collaborate with team members, related service providers, families, and other agencies. The Behavior Specialist/Analyst will provide ongoing training to staff and family members directly involved with the individual receiving behavior support.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
• Maintain a caseload of individuals receiving Behavior Support Consultation and Behavior Support Services.
• Complete functional assessments for individuals who exhibit challenging behaviors when referred for behavior support by support team members.
• Develop a positive behavior support plan that is based on empirical data, observation, and documentation.
• Provide competency-based training to staff and/or family members on the developed behavior support plan and behavior tracking documents associated with the plan.
• Maintain a record of staff’s training on the behavior plan and data tracking requirements.
• Routinely monitor and review the plan’s effectiveness and amend/revise the plan as needed.
• Complete progress notes on all behavior services provided.
• Maintain a weekly itinerary.
• Develop individual-specific systems for ongoing data collection of the individual’s identified challenging behaviors.
• Analyze and graph all data collected and provide a monthly summary of the data and the individual’s progress
• Conduct routine fidelity checks to assist with identifying plan effectiveness.
• Maintains positive and regular communication with stakeholders directly involved in supporting the individual served.
• Follows de-escalation philosophy and techniques. Intervenes in problem situations according to de-escalation philosophy and techniques.
• Records individual information and data on appropriate forms or electronically according to departmental policy.
• Maintains basic care for all equipment and supplies.
• Provides for and maintains a safe, secure, clean, healthy, and attractive environment for persons served, visitors and staff. Identifies and reports safety concerns.
• Actively participates in staff development training, staff meetings, seminars, conferences, web-based training and other meetings as scheduled by management. Reads and reviews written material as provided or assigned by your supervisor or the organization. Applies concepts that are learned to your daily activities.
• Follows all rules, guidelines and policies in the HHSC employee handbook and any other pertinent agency or regulatory documents.
• Acts appropriately and professionally on behalf of HHSC when in the community with or without individuals served. Follows dress code as mandated by the department and the organization.
• Observe confidentiality practices according to Hi-Hope policy and federal and state guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Job Experience & Education:
• Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Education, Counseling, Social Work or Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in providing positive behavior support to individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities. This should include functional assessments, plan development, staff training, monitoring of implementation, data analysis and risk identification.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, with advanced computer skills in Excel and PowerPoint.
Job Skills and Requirements:
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification, valid Georgia Driver's license; Transportation and Vehicle Emergency Evacuation training and De-escalation Techniques certification within 90 days of employment. • Must pass background check clearance and negative drug test.
