HI-LEX North America is Hiring an Assembly Operator I (2nd Shift) Near Battle Creek, MI

Job DetailsJob LocationHIA (Battle Creek) - Battle Creek, MIPosition TypeFull-TimeJob ShiftSecond ShiftDescriptionThe 2nd shift schedule is 2:30pm - 11:00pm. (If working overtime the schedule 2:30pm - 1:00am.)Performs duties with minimal supervision while operating various machinery to produce a variety of materials.
  • Plan daily work from schedule.
  • Work from prints, process specification sheets and instructions.
  • Set up and adjust machinery for operation.
  • Load and operate machinery to produce product.
  • Make required adjustment to machinery to correct deviations and assure proper operation.
  • Visually inspect completed product, taking measurements as required to ensure quality of product.
  • Place completed product in designated location.
  • Troubleshoot and do minor repairs on own machinery.
  • Prepare required paperwork and reports.
  • Notify supervisor of equipment or operating difficulties.
  • Use hand tools and basic measuring instruments. Operate forklift and hand-truck.
  • Follow safety rules and keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Perform a variety of work, using knowledge of electrical, water, air, and hydraulic, with supervision, as needed.
  • Perform a variety of schedule machinery testing and documentation.
  • Use hand and power tools, drill press, saw, grinder and Oxy-Fuel cutting process.
  • Operate forklift and man lift.
  • Ability to work overtime.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
QualificationsEssential Requirements: Ability to plan daily work from schedule.Ability to load and operate machinery in area.Ability to use hand tools.Ability to read and understand blueprints and process specifications.Ability to use electronic equipment for data entry.Good eye-hand coordination, ability to visually inspect product.Clothing and shoes must comply with current MIOSHA regulations and current dress code policy.Ability to work overtime, as requested.Essential Requirements Physical Demands: Lift and/or move weights ranging from 30-2500 lbs., some use of hoists, some by hand.Lift, push or pull over 60 lb. Hoists are available to assist with most lifting.Some operations require occasional stooping, crouching, kneeling, and climbing.Continuous standing and walking.Operations highly repetitive.Good depth perception for fork truck operation.Ability to hear warnings from equipment, machines, vehicles and public-address systems.Requires frequent grasping, gripping, pinching, and twisting of hands/wrists.Require frequent pushing and/or pulling.Require frequent reaching at or below shoulder height, some positions have over shoulder, some bending.Require frequent movement of head and neck.Continuous standing. Occasional walking at some positions, climbing stairs.Walking is required to and from work center to parking and break areas.Exposure: Dust, noise, heat, molten material, vibration, chemicals moving vehicles and manufacturing odor.The factory condition environment is not air conditioned but heated.
