Substitute Teacher

Currently looking for substitute teachers to fill part-time, temporary, and on-call positions as substitute teacher, preschool aide, teaching assistant, and classroom teachers on the island of Oahu. Interested candidates in teaching grades K-12 should hold a college degree.

Requirements for the Substitute Teacher:

• Good written and oral communication skills
• Flexible and adaptable
• Experience working with children
• Friendly, caring, and kind with children
• Good interpersonal skills

Educational Requirements Teacher Candidates:

· Preschool Aide, High School Diploma

· Preschool Teacher or Teacher Assistant CDA or AA in Early Childhood Education.

· K-12 Substitute Teacher Candidates 4-year college degree

Physical and Mental Requirements for the Substitute Teacher:

• Frequently sits, bends, grasp light or fine manipulation, talks and hears.
• May be required to sit in small, child-size chairs or on the floor.
• Frequently stands and/or walks, write by hand.
• Periods outside in the sun to monitor children for recess, PE, or play time.
• Occasionally lifts, carry, push or pull objects that weigh up to 20 pounds.
• Some occasion to twist, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, reach or work above shoulder, or grasp forcefully.
• Walk up/down stairs

Working Conditions for the Substitute Teacher, Teacher, Assistant, or Preschool Aide

• Indoor: Open-Air OR Air-Conditioned Classrooms
• Outdoor: Periods of standing outside in the sun during recess or outdoor play time.
