Higginbotham Insurance Agency is Hiring an Accounting Specialist- Day 2 Near Fort Worth, TX

Tasks:

Facilitates accounting workflows for Day Two Services, specifically COBRA and Section 125 processes
Ensures accuracy of invoicing, processing and monitoring incoming payments, and posting cash receipts in the Intacct GL system
Coordinates with the Day Two operations team and Accounts Receivable team to ensure accuracy of cash application across multiple groups and systems
Implements new customers into the Intacct GL system
Performs month-end close procedures including preparation of journal entries
Performs all Day Two account reconciliations and proactively investigates variances
Assists with the annual benefit compliance audits
Maintains and enhances process documentation as needed
Other accounting duties, operational issues, and projects as needed

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Must be a self-starter who takes initiative
Possess strong proactive troubleshooting skills
High degree of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently, assess situations quickly and implement appropriate solutions

Skills, Experience and Education:

2 years previous accounting experience required, public accounting experience is a plus
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or similar discipline required
Must be advanced in Microsoft Excel, experience in Sage Intacct is a plus
