Description

Job Position: Outside Sales Representative
Reports to: VP-Sales
Department: Sales
Location: New Bern, NC

Position Summary
Create a positive image of HDPE, Inc., achieve sales volume and gross profit goal, set up and perform in person sales calls, assist with communicating and coordinating bids and orders.

Must be flexible/adaptable with good communication skills and the ability to develop relationships
People in this position must be able to find balanced solutions that adhere to policies/procedures and yet satisfy customer needs on a regular basis. They must be able to bridge the gap between company and customer needs

Essential Duties:
-Perform outside sales calls within the prescribed budget and ensure a high level of customer service is provided and a high level of representation provided for the company.
-Compile and present annual revenue and gross margins forecasts and budget anticipated to support activities
-Perform marketing activities / customer entertainment according to established plan within the prescribed budget
-Continuously provide input for identification of new opportunities
-Provide customers with technical support as it relates to specifications, plans, products or services applications.
-Perform research to investigate other potential products, services or markets. Present these products, services and markets to the Vice President Sales and Marketing as part of a strategic sales and marketing plan
-Ensure sales activity level or amount of sales call conducted is in accordance with department goals in support of planned sales volume goals
-Responsible for identification of new potential customers and consistently maintain call volume with new potential and existing customers.
-Obtain and communicate information required for Inside sales to prepare quotes and ensure quotes are submitted by the due date. Reviews quotes, ensure gross profit goal is achieved, verify specifications, and ensures quotes are comprehensive and accurate
-Perform customer demonstrations or training for specifications, products, or services as required.
-Complete weekly status reports and weekly payment collections for their past due accounts

Physical Requirements:
-Must be able to sit for long periods of time.
-Must have visual acuity necessary to read material composed on video display terminals
-Must have the ability to move from place to place within the building
-Must be able to complete repetitive motion of hands and arms to input/retrieve information from computer.
-Must be able to bend/reach to get materials from floor, high and low shelves
-Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs., such as project materials, etc.

-High School graduate with related work experience in HDPE products, fabrication & fusion sales or an equivalent combination of education, training, and work experience.
-Vocational training in HDPE products, fabrication, and fusion with a minimum of five years HDPE products, fabrication and fusion or similar
Work Environment
-This position will be working primarily indoors in a climate-controlled, smoke-free environment, but also Requires the employee be working in customers’ facilities and job sites with varying temperature conditions, some like outdoor conditions. the normal auto and air Travel hazards will apply. Travel will be in all types of weather including heavy rain and below freezing temperatures with snow conditions possible.
-The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be higher in other areas or when visiting customers’ or vendor sites.
-Traveling by vehicle most days to visit customer's office and/or job sites.

Minimum Qualifications:
-Must be 18 years of age
-Must pass a Drug Test
-Must pass a Background Check
-Must pass Pre-Employment Tests (if applicable)
-Must pass Pre-Employment Physical

Preferred Qualifications:
-2 Years Experience with HDPE Shop and Field
-2 Years Experience in Inside Sales / Account Management
