High Life is looking for a motivated, dedicated and strong leader that can manage a high foot traffic retail location in Chapel Hill, NC. This is a Full Time Hourly Position that requires 35-40 hours per work week. Must be 21 years or older to apply.
As the manager, your main responsibility will be to oversee the day-to-day operations of the store while maximizing sales to ensure smooth and efficient operations. Here are some key aspects of the job:
1. Store Operations: You will be responsible for managing all aspects of High Life Chapel Hill Operations, including inventory management, staffing, product displays, scheduling, and managing a team of sales associates to ensure that the store opens and operates properly and that the store closes and operates properly.
2. Staff Management: It will be your duty to recruit, train, and supervise a team of sales associates. You will also need to delegate tasks and responsibilities, provide guidance, and conduct performance evaluations to ensure excellent customer service, ensuring that all teammates are following policies and procedures, and making sure to hold teammates accountable.
3. Communication: You will work with various departments to ensure effective information flow. Your primary objectives will include enhancing internal communication, managing customer communication, and promoting the store. Communication is the key to this position.
4. Monitor: Maintain a positive work environment promoting teamwork and open communication. Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion and professionalism. Monitor employee performance and implement necessary correction actions in collaboration with your supervisor and HR.
5. Customer Service: Ensuring a positive and friendly shopping experience for customers is crucial. You should address customer product inquiries, complaints, and concerns promptly and professionally. Customer-oriented mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
6. Sales and Marketing: Developing and implementing sales strategies to increase revenue and achieve sales targets will be part of your responsibilities. Monitoring sales performance and adjusting strategies accordingly will also be necessary. Utilizing marketing techniques such as promotions that are communicated by the warehouse.
7. Compliance: You must ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations related High Life’s operations, age restrictions, and product restrictions. Staying updated on tobacco-related policies and implementing required changes is essential.
8. Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels. Regular inventory counts and reconciling discrepancies will also be necessary. A Store Manager will need to work and be present on shipment days to ensure all transfers of inventory from the Warehouse are accepted in a timely manner and any transfer discrepancies are corrected before accepting into the store’s inventory.
9. Merchandising: Ensuring appealing and organized product displays is crucial. Continuously evaluating the product assortment to meet customer preferences and market trends is also important.
10. Financial Management: Managing the store's financial aspects, cash handling, and ensuring that deposits are made in a timely manner. You will be required to ensure deposits are taken to the bank each week on scheduled deposit days.
Pay starting at: $15/hour PLUS Commission
Reliable transportation and time-management is a must. Your training hours will be paid and reflect on your first paycheck.
Physical demands: This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders
