Clinical Director - Sign on Bonus EligibleProgram & Location: Harmony House, New Bedford
Education: MA, LADC1, or other independent licensure, two years of supervised substance use disorder counseling experience; and at least one year full time equivalent year of clinical supervisory experience.
Pay range: Starting at $70,000(dependent on experience and education)
Status: Full time/Salary Monday - Friday and on call

About UsSEMCOA's (Southeast Massachusetts Council on Advocacy) mission is to advocate for and provide support to individuals, families, and communities in the areas of substance use, mental illness, domestic violence, homelessness, and parenting. SEMCOA operates four emergency assistance family shelters that provide supportive services to families and assist them with securing permanent housing. SEMCOA also provides residential recovery home treatment to individuals with substance use disorders, as well as transitional and permanent housing stability and support programs. Our portfolio also includes two graduate sober houses, the Family Preservation Program, as well as Greater Brockton and Greater Attleboro Taunton Healthy Families programs.
Clinical Director Duties & Responsibilities
  • Compliance with federal regulations, 42CFR Part 2, Confidentiality of Alcohol Abuse Policy, and HIPAA regulations
  • Compliance and working knowledge of applicable HPAO policies and procedures
  • Provide direct client services, carry a minimal caseload if necessary, assessment and treatment planning skills, proven case management abilities
  • Interact with local and community service networks in a manner that enhances the public relations of the facility, and increases community services
  • Attends all programmatic, organizational and committee meetings as assigned
  • Provide individual and group supervision to Program Manager and clinical staff, maintain appropriate documentation
  • Manage payroll, time off requests, approve timesheets
  • Develop and recommend Performance Improvement Goals and objectives for Clinical Team
  • Routinely review resident charts to ensure that the structure and substance are in accord with licensing and accreditation standards
  • Meet with Program Manager regularly to review all program process issues and all issues pertinent to quality care and organizational health and viability
  • All other duties as assigned
Clinical Director Requirements
  • Knowledge of addiction, mental health issues and the treatment/recovery process
  • Ability to work effectively with state systems, knowledge of and adherence to the laws and regulations regarding state and federal licensing requirements
  • Familiarity with relevant professional codes of ethics, client’s rights, and boundaries
  • Competence in working within a structured human service setting, program management and development, development and maintenance of effective interdepartmental and interagency collaborations
  • Strong and effective verbal, written, and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs, ability to learn, use, and train HPAO’s electronic medical record
  • Experience in staff supervision and trainings, performance appraisal, recruitment, hiring, evaluation
  • Certification in the HPAO approved de-escalation program
  • Participate in annual TB Screening
  • CPR Certification
Clinical Director Qualifications
  • Must hold a Master’s degree in one of the following disciplines or a closely related field: Clinical Psychology, Education-Counseling, Medicine, Psychiatric Nursing, Rehabilitative Counseling, or Social Work.
  • At least two years of supervised substance use disorder counseling experience
  • At least one year full time equivalent year of clinical supervisory experience
  • LADC1 or other independent licensure.
  • Maintain and submit any/all licensure or certifications as necessary for the position.
