Job Title: HR Admin SupportLocation: Houston, TXShift: DaysDuration: Contract-FulltimePosition SummaryThe HR Assistant is responsible for supporting the HR Department in administrative and transactional processes. The HR Assistant will also support incoming requests for credentialing, recruitment, and overall HR functions, as well as HR management
Essential Duties & Functions
  • Serve as a contact for routine HR-related inquiries from managers and staff. Research and respond to issues.
  • Works closely with staff to ensure the resolution of administrative requests are completed in a timely and efficient manner. Escalate more complex inquiries to the appropriate resource within the department.
  • Review all forms for completeness, accuracy, timing, and conformity to HR and Credentialing process guidelines.
  • Assist with the coordination of routine tasks and processes in all HR functions.
  • Assist, as needed, in recruitment and selection process to include processing vacancy request forms, job postings, employment advertising, applicant logs, initial screening of applicants, HR audits, and assist, as needed, with interviews, reference and background investigations and offer letters.
  • Work closely with HR staff in proper onboarding of new hires and transfers to include rate of pay and start date.
  • Assist with new employee orientation and special projects.
  • Works closely with HR Coordinator to complete new hire employee paperwork and for employee transfers. Ensures that all employee documentation is properly filed in employee records and appropriately stored in a secure location.
  • Works with HR Coordinator in the recording and maintenance of HR and Payroll data, and the generation and distribution of related reports and information. Maintain liaison with Payroll representatives and others across Legacy Community Health Services as necessary to obtain and provide information.
  • Assist in the preparation and distribution of communications to managers, staff and job candidates (offer letters, publications, education materials, etc.).
  • Works within the context of a primary care medical home, applying a team based approach to care while working in partnership with patients/families to promote: timely access to care, understanding of patient care that is culturally sensitive and language appropriate, continuity of care, and the improvement of the whole-person through the teaching of appropriate self-management skills.
  • Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors and fellow employees to insure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.
  • Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a team to facilitate the department’s ability to meet its goals and objectives.
  • Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, specific job-related hazards.
  • Attends all required safety education programs.
  • Operates assigned equipment and performs all procedures in a safe manner as instructed.
  • Maintains work area and equipment in condition required by Legacy standards.
  • Demonstrates proper body mechanics in all functions.
  • Checks on the patient’s environment and equipment to insure safety. Reports safety concerns promptly to appropriate personnel.
  • Follows Legacy’s exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of techniques, procedures and correct use of protective barrier equipment (Universal Precautions).
  • Assures a safe environment by instituting appropriate control measures.
  • Attends annual education programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, & Training (minimum Requirements)
  • High School Diploma or equivalency required
Required Years Of Experience (minimum Requirements)
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience or a similar office support required
Desirable Education And/or Experience
  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree, preferred
  • Healthcare HR experience preferred.
  • Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities (minimum requirements)
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate self-confidence and positive attitude toward self and others. Maintains commitment and enthusiasm to goal achievement.
  • Possess excellent communication skills and have an ability to maintain a good working relationship with others.
  • Strong organizational and time management discipline.
  • Attention to detail important for the role.
  • Solid judgment and ability to resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Ability to multi-task and operate effectively in stressful situations. Process oriented but flexible and adaptable to organization needs.
  • Excellent team development skills and strong interpersonal skills required.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including: Word, Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize

  • Some knowledge of HR practices preferred but not required.
  • Some knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations preferred.
