• TheMinnesota Department of Information Technology Services (MNIT) ispartnering with the Minnesota Department of Revenue (MDOR) inseeking an experienced Power BI and data analytics / visualizationconsultant to support MDOR in building out its agency wide dataanalytics offering and supporting a significant evolution of itsfinancial data reporting in Power BI.
• At a high level theresource will support a product team working in an agilemethodology and must be able to independently research analyze andpropose data and visualization solutions based on the statesavailable data.
• In addition theconsultant will support the Director of Business Solutions &Continuity develop a roadmap for critical Power BI opportunitiesacross the agency and required skills / talent to deliver on thatroadmap.

• Mature / develop withthe Director of Business Solutions Division our agency wide dataanalyticsoffering.
• Design and developvisualizations dashboards and reports to communicate complex datainsights tostakeholders.
• Collaborate withcrossfunctional teams to understand business requirements anddevelop data visualization solutions that meet theirneeds.
• Create and maintaindocumentation of data visualization processes tools and bestpractices.
• Work with dataanalysts to ensure that data is accurate complete and complies withrelevant data practicerequirements.
• Train and supportother team members on data visualization tools andtechniques.
• Design reports inaccordance with State of Minnesota Branding and AccessibilityStandards.

DesiredQualifications

• Three (3)years or more experience in creating complex Power BIvisualizationsdashboards.
• Advanced knowledge ofSQL. Power Query and DAX and familiarity withSSRS
• Successful experienceworking with business users from crossfunctional teams tounderstand businessneeds.
• Experience working inan Agile and iterative manner releasing minimal viableproduct.
• Excellentcommunication skills and experiences with a variety ofstakeholders.
• Strong analytical andproblemsolvingskills.
• Experience creatingand documenting process and bestpractices.
• Familiarity andexperience with producing financial reporting (profit and lossbudget reporting etc.)
• Familiarity with allPower Platform tools to utilize in conjunction with Power BI toautomate reporting.
