The Bridge is a Christian, faith-based nonprofit with the mission to provide youth and families with the tools necessary for academic achievement, life skills, creative expression, spiritual growth and leadership. The Bridge includes programs for students from K-12th grade, as well as adults in the community of Coatesville.
Job Description
The Program Coordinator reports to the Program Director to ensure the appropriate delivery and overall success of age-appropriate programming. This staff member leads non-academic afternoon and evening programs through the school year and daytime programs in the summer. The Program Coordinator recruits, trains, and manages volunteers. All staff are ‘servant leaders’, meaning they are willing to serve alongside other staff and volunteers, engage with participants and in programs, and fill in where needed. Servant leaders are willing to jump in for service days, clean toilets, drive the van for a program, etc. All staff seek to live a life that reflects the faith and mission of the organization.
Responsibilities: (reports to Program Director/Executive Director)
  • Oversee and participate in the implementation of Community Engagement Programs- large group activities geared towards connecting with different age students. K-5th grade, 6th-7h grade, 8th-12th grade. This includes Family engagement opportunities like Family Nights throughout the year. Runs Mondays-Thursdays with some weekend activities.
  • Oversee classroom management, conflict resolution, and communication between parents, students, volunteers, staff.
  • Provide transportation/oversee transportation for some programming.
  • Ensure the completion of various aspects of daily programming:
    • Registration / Permission slips for students enrolling in programs
    • Attendance of Students, Staff and Volunteers (using Elexio software)
    • Keeping communication between all parties a priority, including parents
    • Provide Supply Requests/ Purchase supplies for programs
      • Snacks, supplies for each program, filler activities
  • Oversee PT program staff and volunteers in programs in order to make sure all aspects run smoothly
    • Food, and supplies for all activities are prepared and running on time for programs
    • Step in to tutor, volunteer, or run a class if volunteers can not make it for various reasons
    • Ensure the building remains clean throughout programs (including bathrooms, kitchen, program space, etc.)
  • Oversee Curriculum for Bible based lessons. Often teach the lessons- or ensure the lessons and studies are led effectively.
  • Build rapport/maintain relationships, and coordinate communication with the key people; students, parents, volunteers, community partners (i.e. teachers, other organization leaders). Collaborate with Communications Coordinator in order to collect all necessary items needed from volunteers prior to them volunteering. This includes volunteer packet, reference checks, clearances, going over Volunteer Manual.
  • Participate in and support Academic Coordinator with Academic related programs.
  • Participate in School Based programming- Pointman/ Coatesville Athletic Leadership Council, Ways of Women/ Ways of Gentlemen.
  • Administer Pre and/or Post Surveys, as well as other applicable grant requirements.
  • Participate in the details and planning of all special events as applicable: Annual Night of Hope in Spring, Christmas efforts, Back to School Event, Open House or other events.
  • Participate in community events and activities as they arise.
Requirements/ Skills
  • Must embrace the mission of the Bridge and represent the mission with integrity.
  • Experience working and/or serving in a non-profit and/or faith-based ministry before.
  • An understanding of the Bible, and ability to deliver biblically based lessons.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with program participants, families, staff, volunteers, etc.
  • Friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Strong classroom management skills.
  • Ability to connect with Elementary and Secondary students, as well as parents.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge or willingness to learn Microsoft Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with a team.
  • Flexibility to adjust to new tasks as needed.
  • Ability to multi-task and complete a wide variety of tasks.
  • Driver’s License and good driving record.
  • Experience working with 6-12th grade is a plus
Compensation and Benefits
  • Salary range of $41,000 - $50,000 based on skills and experience
