Southeastern Oral Surgery in Dothan, Alabama is searching for an experienced Surgical Assistant to provide the best care to our patients in a friendly, comfortable environment. Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist the oral surgeons during a variety of surgical procedures. 
• Prepare treatment rooms for patients by following required procedures and protocols.
• Take dental x-rays of excellent, diagnostic quality.
• Review patient health history to ensure it is recorded accurately and completely. 
• Serve as an infection control officer by following infection control protocol and sterilizing instruments and equipment. 
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during and after surgical treatment.
• Provide patients with post-operative instructions for oral care following surgery or other oral treatment procedures.
• Record doctor notes and vital sign information during a surgical procedure or office consultation.
• Perform office management tasks that often require the use of a computer and practice software.
• Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential per HIPAA guidelines.

Requirements

• One or more years of Surgical Technician or Surgical Assistant experience is preferred ,but not required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience using computers for a variety of tasks. 
• Detail oriented, punctual, and patient-care focused. 
• Consistent professional appearance and attitude. 
• Motivated to grow and learn. 
• High school diploma or equivalent.
