Brief Overview

Highland Lake Resort in Bridgton, Maine is located one hour from Portland, ME and 45 minutes from North Conway, NH. We are a 23 room Resort with an event room on 5 acres overlooking Highland Lake with 400’ of private waterfrontage. Our event room hosts business workshops, spiritual retreats, weddings, yoga and more. The Resort is seasonal, opened May through October. An onsite café is leased to a business called Nectar of Maine which serves smoothies, plant-based meals, CBD products and other wellness related goods.

Front Desk Receptionist /Reservationist
Seasonal: May to October
Hours of potential shift: Sunday-Saturday between 8:30 am - 8:30pm (generally either 8:30a-1p or 2p-8:30pm).
Seasonal Front Desk /Reservationist position available at Highland Lake Resort.
We are hiring one candidate for this position. Position requires individual to be able to work all shifts including days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed but will only work a few days each week and we aim to keep the schedule as routine as possible.

Responsibilities

Duties include but are not limited to:
Providing efficient and exceptional service to a wide variety of individuals on a daily basis; including, guests, potential guests and team members
Promptly answering the telephone using positive and clear English communication. Take and input messages into the guest files on the computer. Retrieve messages and communicate the content to the guest.
Retrieve mail, small packages and facsimiles for customers as requested.
Listen and extend assistance in order to resolve problems such as price conflicts, insufficient heating or air conditioning, etc. while remaining calm and alert especially during emergency situations and heavy hotel activity.
Taking reservations and assisting with questions or concerns via phone, e-mail or in- person. New employees will be trained on our computer reservation system and policies.
Completing the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from a computer system.
Confirming pertinent information such as guest contact and payment information, number of guests in the party and making appropriate selection of rooms based on guest needs.

Working with Expedia and Booking.com in maintaining reservations.

Handling cash and making change.

Answering phone calls. Transferring and taking messages.

Verifying and collecting guest payments and identification.

Promoting all marketing programs.

Continual standing and movement throughout front office area is required.

Respond and handle issues, coordinate guest needs with various hotel departments.

Manage and resolve all guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner.

Complete shift checklist(s) to ensure the hotel information is updated and team members are prepared for the daily activities.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has good organizational skills, loves to learn, take on a challenge and is a self starter willing to take on various tasks.

Strong computer and customer service skills are essential; Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel & Google Apps (Mail, Docs, Sheets, and Calendar) with ability to type routine correspondence.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 13 per week
