General Statement of Duties: Performs a variety of administrative and operational duties associated with the operation and management of aquatic recreation facilities.
Supervision Received: Works under the direction of the Aquatics Coordinators, Assistant Aquatic Coordinator, Assistant Facility Supervisors, Facility Supervisor, with indirect guidance of the Aquatics Supervisor.
Supervision Exercised: Assists with supervision of all aquatic operations staff and indirect supervision of programming staff on-site.
Examples of Duties: The following examples of duties are intended to be illustrative only and are not intended to be all inclusive.
Physical and Environmental Standards: Most work is performed indoors in a busy office where noise and interruptions prevail. Work will also be performed outdoors in different types of conditions including, but not limited to, heat, wind, cold, rain and snow. Must be able to frequently sit, walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, reach and lift, push or pull. Must be able to stand/ walk/ rove for extended periods of time, up to 8 hours per shift. Manual dexterity is needed to type, write, use a calculator, and answer the phone. The ability to talk and hear via the telephone and through face to face communication is needed. Vision requirements include near and far acuity. Upper body strength is a requisite to lift/ remove a maximum of 50 pounds unassisted and 100 pounds with assistance. EOE
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Requires experience and knowledge in the areas of aquatic recreation, recreation facility operations and customer service. Must be computer literate. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers. Ability to collect, analyze and present data in report forms. Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with staff and members. Must be able to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist and lift. Ability to safely lift a minimum of 50 pounds, unassisted, on daily basis. Ability to lift, with assistance 100 pounds safely. Must possess, or be able to obtain and maintain, an Ellis & Associates International Lifeguard Training Program Instructor license within 30 days, for the duration of employment. Must be at least 18 years of age and preferably 21 years or older. Must have the ability to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, late evenings and weekends, to accommodate the hours of the facility. Must pass a Drug and Background check.
Education: Bachelor degree in a related field from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years in a related aquatics management field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
