Highline Warren is Hiring an Inventory Control Spec | 6:30 am - 3 pm | Mon-Fri Near Council, IA
- Develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures to optimize inventory levels while minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory records using inventory management software or other tracking systems.
- Conduct regular physical inventory counts to reconcile actual stock levels with system records.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demand, and make informed purchasing decisions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and logistics, to ensure timely availability of materials and finished goods.
- Coordinate with suppliers to manage inventory replenishment, including placing purchase orders, tracking deliveries, and resolving any issues.
- Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, such as shortages, overages, or damaged goods, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Optimize inventory storage and layout to maximize space utilization and improve efficiency in material handling.
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure inventory accuracy, turnover, and other relevant metrics.
- Prepare reports and presentations on inventory status, trends, and performance for management review.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and safety protocols related to inventory management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesAn individual qualified for this job should possess:
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, practices, and techniques.
- Proficiency in using inventory management software and other relevant tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and analyze data.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in inventory tracking and record-keeping.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, such as FDA or ISO standards, related to inventory management in specific industries (e.g., pharmaceuticals, food, medical devices) is an advantage.
Minimum Experience, Education, And CertificationsAn individual qualified for this job must have and maintain the following qualifications:
- A combination of 3 years’ experience in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field and a minimum of high school education is desired. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred
- Proven experience in inventory control or materials management within a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to frequently move about and around company equipment and throughout industrial manufacturing and distribution facilities with stairs, uneven surfaces and elevated workspaces.
- Remain seated for periods of time and have the manual dexterity to operate standard office equipment such as computer keyboard, mouse, calculator, phone, communications platforms, copier/scanner, and similar machines.

- The individual will work in an office setting in the same room as other individuals. Noise levels are average for an office and include conversation and/or office equipment noise.
- While performing essential functions at manufacturing and distribution facilities, the individual may be exposed to hazardous physical or chemical conditions, including mechanical parts, low lighting, elevated and confined workspaces, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gasses, poor ventilation, extreme temperatures, and intense noise.
