Position: Mortgage Closer / Balancer

GENERAL DESCRIPTION :

The Mortgage Loan Closer / Balancer performs closing functions that include preparation of closing instructions and closing disclosures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB :

• Assign files to closing staff and monitor pipeline for upcoming CDs when head closer is out of the office
• Review and prepare closing instructions for department loans
• Evaluate and prepare all closing disclosures
• Maintain all files in Encompass and ensure accuracy for reporting for management.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

REQUIRED SKILLS :

• Ability to read and understand mortgage documents.
• Ability to maintain accurate records and prepare related reports.
• Ability to use all office machines and proficiency in computer programs.
• Ensure accuracy in loan funding.
• Ability to communicate with title company personnel, investors, agents, builders, and bank personnel.
• Extensive knowledge of mortgage lending requirements regarding legal matters, funding restrictions, etc.
• Ability to work under pressure; possess exceptional skills in time management, multitasking and attention to detail; communicate effectively and work closely with co-workers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS:

While performing the essential functions of this job you are continuously required to sit, stand, talk or hear; they may use hands to handle or feel and frequently are required to reach with their hands and arms and occasionally stand, walk, climb or balance. They may occasionally lift, move, push, or pull up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. This is an indoor position and the noise level in the work area is usually moderate. There are no harmful environmental conditions present for this position.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

High school degree or GED equivalent; emphasis on office skills, plus minimum of 1 year of mortgage closing experience or 12-18 months of related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:

This position reports directly to the Closing Officer, who reports to the SVP and the EVP of Residential Mortgage, who report directly to the President/CEO
