Lead Pavement Markings Technician
Objectives of this Role
Leading crews in shop and on jobsite, ensuring all work is completed safely and efficiently
Lead and operate with others on pavement markings, take and stencils and removals for roadway markings
Train on site
Daily and Monthly Responsibilities
Oversee team members daily
Be available to answer phone calls on and away from jobsites
Read plans and create a plan to complete the job efficiently
Review and coordinate project plans with team members and other documentation required for the project
Setting up the work zone using the appropriate safety standards.
Controlling traffic
Complete quantity sheets (daily responsibility)
Breaking down and cleaning up the work zone upon completion of the operation.
Operate equipment, including Forklifts, Skid Steer, Truck & Trailer combo.
Manual labor including (but not limited to) shoveling, brooming and raking.
Occasional equipment operation; including a skid steer or highway broom
Operating and maintaining paint truck components
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications
Ability to identify problems/issues, generate solutions and make sound decisions using standard procedures.
Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments.
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
Report to work at the designated start time.
Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
Be able to work overtime when required.
Must have strong work ethic
Ability to work in a team setting
Strong verbal and written communication skills; Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times.
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
Must have a valid drivers license
Pass pre-employment drug screen.
Pass a pre-employment DOT physical.
Have the willingness to work in a team environment and assist co–workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas.
Be at least age 18 years of age due to nature of working environment.
General mechanical and electrical knowledge
Strong attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
1 years’ experience in the construction field or prior traffic control experience.
