The Project Manager is responsible for the Agile life-cycle management of software engineering environment to meet Huntington Ingalls Industries Mission Technologies research and development objectives for internal research and development (IR&D) projects.
In addition, work supports Joint Staff, which is responsible for training military forces to respond to crises around the globe. From armed conflict to providing humanitarian support after natural disasters, this force relies on joint training across all military branches, Combatant Commands, and Components to be ready to respond at a moment’s notice. Globally integrated training technologies help prepare senior leaders to make decisions in complex environments, strategically integrate operations and resources globally, and develop a force capable of competing and winning against any adversary or triumph in any disaster.
This role is to provide support and management of multiple IR&D projects across the division. Duties including managing backlogs items, working to relieve any impediments for the software development team processes, and provide retrospective and planning elements for Agile/Scrum development tasking. Additionally, the candidate will review status of projects and budgets, manages schedules and prepares status reports, and assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Candidate will also develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients. The candidate should be familiar with Agile methodologies and using Scrum to manage team members.
