- The Ultrasound Technologist supports patient care by performing quality ultrasound procedures.
- Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during the scan.
- Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment.
- Evaluate ultrasound images for technical quality, exposure, and transmit to PACS.
- Assist Radiologists and other health care practitioners during interventional ultrasound procedures.
- Must be a graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program within a school approved by the Council of Medical Education of the American Medical Association (AMA).
- Possess an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Certification or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- If registry eligible must pass the registry within two years of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- One year of direct experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
