Responsibilities
  • The Ultrasound Technologist supports patient care by performing quality ultrasound procedures.
  • Explain procedures and observe patients to ensure safety and comfort during the scan.
  • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment.
  • Evaluate ultrasound images for technical quality, exposure, and transmit to PACS.
  • Assist Radiologists and other health care practitioners during interventional ultrasound procedures.
QualificationsJob Requirements:
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technology program within a school approved by the Council of Medical Education of the American Medical Association (AMA).
  • Possess an American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) Certification or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
    • If registry eligible must pass the registry within two years of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Preferred Job Requirements:
  • One year of direct experience as an Ultrasound Technologist
