We're looking for motivated candidates to fill the role of CWI/Structural Steel Inspector in our office located in Washington, DC. Competitive starting pay based on prior experience and overtime work available. These are great starting roles in the engineering and construction industries!

Responsibilities:

  • Perform field/fabrication shop observations and testing of materials for steel construction and welded/bolted connections.
  • Report observations and findings to project team verbally and/or in writing.
  • Interacting with external project team members and senior staff members on a variety of projects, as needed.
  • Promoting a safe workplace and proper use of PPE.
  • Successfully complete necessary certifications (company-paid) to perform testing and inspection tasks.

Qualifications:

  • At least 2 years' experience with construction and structural steel erection.
  • AWS CWI and/or ICC Welding certification.
  • ICC High Strength Bolting certification preferred.
  • Certified as MT and UT Level II or be able to acquire in one year (company-paid)
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • ICC Structural Wood or the ability to acquire in 6 months (company-paid)
  • Ability to meet pre-employment requirements.
  • Reliable vehicle suitable for use on construction sites. Mileage will be reimbursed.
  • Ability to work nights and weekends, as required.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 60-80 pounds
  • Ability to interpret engineering and construction plans/specifications.
  • Knowledge of AWS and AISC specifications desired.
