The Environmental Department Manager will build out and create the environmental sciences service line in the Pittsburgh office through a multitude of techniques, practices, and disciplines.
Responsibilities & Experience
Strategically capture and maintain client relationships and new business
Provide thorough professional service and maintain continuous communications with clients to build long-term relationships
Lead day-to-day department operations which may include direct supervision of support staff, project management, and business development
Manage all department resources and staff to maximize growth and profitability
Develop, manage, and maintain the department budget, making the necessary adjustments to maximize profitability
Attend industry related events to increase the client base of the department
Write and develop proposals with the intent of increasing department backlog
Be an individual contributor in the field to support the operational output of the department
Ability to perform HAZMAT surveys, air sampling, Phase I & II environmental site assessments, wetlands delineation, and Property Condition Assessments (PCA)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or any of the relative applied sciences
Minimum 10 years practical experience in the environmental consulting field
Proven success with managing a department's budget / growth / build-out
Hazardous Materials Survey and Remediation Licensure (PA, WV, OH)
