Job Posting – FSP Program Director

The mission of Hillview Mental Health Center is to provide comprehensive, compassionate, and culturally sensitive mental health services to adults in the East San Fernando Valley. We offer a full range of outpatient behavioral health and substance use disorder services while working with government and community agencies to meet practical needs such as housing, employment, and transportation. Our multi-disciplinary team includes psychiatrists, therapists, case managers, substance use counselors, employment and housing specialists, peers, and more. We help our clients assess their needs, goals, and strengths to empower them to live as independently as possible as participating members of the community.

We are currently recruiting for a Licensed or Waivered/Registered Psychologist, Clinical Social Worker, or MFT as Program Director/Manager to be responsible for the daily operations of our Full Service Partnership (FSP) Adult Programs.

Some Duties for the position include Program Director

  • Manages the clinical and administrative operations of the FSP Adult Programs.
  • Directly supervises staff as necessary and as assigned. Serves as coach, mentor and positive role model and holds self and others accountable to the highest standards.
  • Trains and/or recommends trainings for staff as needed to help them develop skills required.
  • Provides clinical services to clients as part of the clinical treatment team.
  • Work in conjunction with a multidisciplinary treatment team including psychiatrists, case managers, therapists, etc. to assist clients in achieving the best possible clinical outcomes.
  • Provide crisis intervention when indicated.
  • Obtains certification to evaluate for Lanterman-Petris-Short (LPS) Holds (including during on-call hours).
  • Ensures staff maintain appropriate clinical documentation as required by laws, regulations, and third-party contracts.
  • Works with Hillview administration/management to ensure staff and program compiles with and meets standards of care, licensing, and other local, state, and federal regulatory and reporting requirements for mental health.
  • Acts as liaison with other service agencies and Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health staff as appropriate (including attending required meetings).

Hours: Program Director

  • Monday through Friday (40 hours)
  • Hours: 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Meal Period: 30 minutes
  • After hours on-call response

Qualifications: Program Director

  • PsyD/PhD, Masters in Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience in a mental health setting.
  • Prior program administrative/management responsibilities experience.
  • Valid California Driver’s License and current automobile insurance prior to start date.
  • Ability to pass thorough background check. Hillview will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories.

Required Skills: Program Director

  • Demonstrated experience/knowledge related to working in the mental health field.
  • Compassion for clients and strong desire to make a difference.
  • Comfort working with a diverse clinical population, including clients with severe and persistent mental illnesses as well as clients referred from the criminal justice system.
  • Ability to work with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform after hours on-call responsibilities.
  • Comfort working with clients out in the community.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have basic computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to use electronic health records.
  • Must have basic typing skills.
  • Ability to maintain productivity and documentation standards.
  • Ability to manage time efficiently, prioritize tasks, demonstrate sound judgment, give attention to detail, be flexible, self-driven and motivated.

Preferred Skills: Program Director

  • Experience with substance use treatment and/or specialization in co-occurring disorders.
  • Criminal Justice Background.
  • Previous management experience.
  • Knowledge of Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health records paperwork.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $42.13 - $50.35 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
